I havent used Surbufs, but, I agree that microfiber pads are the way of the future. They will correct quickly but finish cleanly. My experience is with Meguiars. Surbufs will be on my next order (it was on my last order, but, took them off when I bought a rotary. I ordered some rotary pads instead.)

I took out some 1500 grit sanding marks on my daughters Mustang last week using the Megs MFDA system on my 3 in Griots polisher (which is kind of a whimpy polisher). It took them out effortlessly. I used it because it was in a tight spot with some sharp angles and edges. I did not want to use the rotary in that circumstance with my lack of rotray experience. After using it though, it has me thinking about using MF pads more often.
