ccs foam hand applicators

They're my go-to for hand application in spots where the buffer doesn't reach (orange), and speed up hand-applying polish. Very recommended.

I have some arriving in a few hours :xyxthumbs:

going to try them out tomorrow with poliseal

:iagree: They work Great, easy to grip, polish very well. I rubbed out a bunch of scratches under a spoiler once that a machine couldn't reach, didn't think I would get them out but I did.

Do they have a plastic backing or are they just the "pads"?

I have a set coming too! I am pretty sure they are just a pad. Mike did an article "Man vs. Machine" and I am pretty sure he used the back to polish (the flat side)

they are just the foam pads, no backing. one side is flat the other has the pockets. I picked up the orange and white for hand polishing but never used them yet.

The key benefit to these pad are the thickness of the foam and the density of the foam as it helps to spread out the pressure from your fingertips.

Sometimes I like a thin foam applicator pad and sometimes I like a thick, denser foam applicator pad, one isn't necessarily better than the other, there's just applications where one works better than the other.

Here's a couple topical articles, I just moved the second one out of the rough-draft forum...

Foam Applicator Pads at Autogeek.net

Priming your pad when working by hand

I have these, and previously used another multi-density foam pad from autogeek. They are absolute life savers. Its amazing how much you can get done with a hand polish if you have the right tools. I've used these to remove paint scuffs on mirrors and bumpers. Its quick, clean, and safe. Well worth the price!

Just to add...

Below is a thin applicator pad I used for an article on how-to test for single stage or basecoat/clearcoat paint finishes, if you look closely you can see 4 spots where there's more red paint due to increased pressure at the finger tip...

How to Test for Single Stage or Clear Coat Paint

Confirmed, we're working on a single stage paint... also note the heavier accumulation were my fingers pressed down with the most pressure... this is because you can exert more pressure to the small area of your finger tips than you can with your entire hand, you can use this to work for you or cause problems depending upon what you're trying to do...

A thicker pad would help to spread the pressure from your fingertips out over a larger section of the pad which can help you to avoid fingermarks.

Focusing on the task at hand and holding your fingers flatter to the panel versus at an angle also helps.

great pads, I used them to do a full hand polishing over my entire car just like "man vs machine" how to. they work well, even tried orange pad (most aggressive) with meguiars scratch x 2.0 and it seemed to work much better than yellow foam applicators for this product. I stocked up on all 3 of these pads, and CCS red foam applicators (round ones) for applying wax.

I use the Polishin' Pal Combo. Not as much coverage as these, but gives good, even pressure.

I might have to give these a try though. After all, it's been more than 24 hours since I placed an order with AG.
