ccs pad question

I have a few questions about the lc CCS pads. I am ready to order the 5.5 inch pads but I'd like some help on what ones to choose. I'll be using the PC 7424xp primarily for finishing purposes like glazes and waxes. Once and a while I'll use it for aio. I'm ordering 18 pads. I was thinking a few orange and whites then the rest in gray blue and red. What r or guys opinions for my purchase since u guys are more familiar with the pads and equipment?

P.s. Most of my compounding and some glazing will be done with a makita rotary polisher. Since I'm more efficient and familiar with it.
 
You will only need a couple of red pads. I would get mostly orange white and blue.

I was thinking like 4 orange 4 white 3 gray 4 blue 3 red. Sound about right. Which aio would u suggest. I got meguires reconditioning cream I forgot the part number. Any others to suggest and for wax I bought collinite 476 for the durability. Any other products to suggest. This is the first time really using a PC style polisher. Just need some direction on good polishes sealants and wax

If I were you I would get 2 yellow 4 orange 4 white 6 blue and 2 red. The gray is really redundant. The yellow are the most aggressive but you may be surprised how aggressive you need non some cars. 105 205 and some collinite and you should be good to go.

I use the black for my last fine cut polishes and the blue for applying any finishing waxes and sealants.

Ideally, and let me stress "ideally", you'd want to have at least one of each color so that you're prepared for whatever situation comes up, but otherwise, I agree with everyone on their recommendations.
 
You'll find white will work in more instances, with more products than any others you have. It'll work with compounds and polishes alike. For that reason I own more whites, in more sizes and types than any others.

Reds are fairly soft and you'll really not need them but once in a blue moon. I like the idea of blue and black actually, although they (all the LC pads) are so close in usages that its easy to skip over one and you'll be just fine. Do remember that the CCS also has a green pad. I'd maybe lean towards 4 orange, 6 white, 3 blue, 3 black, 2 red. You might could slip 2 green in there then do 2 blue, 2 black but its really hard to work with only 2 of any color that has any real work to do. (I'd rather have 3~4 and less colors to choose from.)
 
now another question would be if you had a smaller budget and just want the 6 pack....what to get?

1 yellow
2 orange
2 white
1 red

I'd stock up on the orange, and white. Then a couple green and blue. I'd also make sure a yellow or two was in there.

Layely I compound with the orange, polish with the white, cleaner wax with the green, and finish with the blue. It all depends though. There are times I'll polish with the green as well. It all depends on how much cut I want.
 
i don't like how close the red , blue, and gray (black) are in terms of use. is there more a difference than I'm seeing?
 
Yellow, orange, green, and white are cutting pads and are listed from most to least aggressive. Yellow is for heavy cutting and green is intended for one-step products. I would skip both of these for now. Black, blue, red, and gold are finishing pads, also listed from most to least aggressive. I would skip blue and gold for now.
