i am currently going to buy some LC pads and was wondering if theres a difference between the CCS and Flat pads?? for those of you that have used both witch ones do you prefer? do the CCS do a better job than the flat at certain things or can good results be achieved with both?

I favor the flat pads over ccs pads. Like the hydro pads even better.

though this has been covered many times, i prefer flat pads...

I also prefer the flat and HT pads over the CCS! But the CCS do work fine...just a personal preference!

Im glad to read the comments, as an amateur and home user i'd like to hear which work best, reduce steps and provide the great look I see in many post. those Hydro pads look like one maybe two steps to a finished product, other pads make it sounds like its a three step process

it looks like i will be going with the flat pads!!! when i first ordered my makita i got some Waffle pads from TCP global... and man those things are quite bad... i will never be buying waffle pads again! thats for sure! thanks everybody! :thankyousign:

Not really.. depends on the paint your working on and the condition. Most pads will work, but some will finish better. I believe the polish is more important than the pad..not saying that the pad is not, but imo it's secondary.

Have you tried the 3M waffle pads? Great on a rotary.

ive never tried those , ive heard great things about them but i just wish they made them in smaller sizes. 8 inch pads are a little too big for what i do!

They do make them in 6", but it's hard to find. UK is your best bet. Another good pad for a rotary is the LC Komppresor pads.

I've always had better luck with working with flat pads. IMO they are easier to work with and finish better

ive heard the komppresor pads come off easily. such as accidentally running it trough a gap and the little foam slots fly off!

I use Lake Country Kompressor pads on my Makita rotary and have never had one fall apart or come off. Like everything, I'm certain that if a pad became caught in something the failure will be at the weakest point.

Like Bobby, never had any problems with my Kompressor pads.
