Ok, I know that I am not the only idiot who cant eyeball the pad on my UDM perfectly. What tricks and tips do you guys have for me to get the pad just right the first time. I want the velcro to last as long as possible.

I don't think it matters much on a random orbital. I know it does 100% for a high speed rotary...

i think kyle has a good point...in the many many many ...many uses with pads of all sorts i dont think ive had any issues with it being a 1cm or mm off...however...what i do is put one "corner" (even though its round) and somehow guesstimate if the pad will evenly go around...i can adjust it by twisting the d/a accordingly

Guys in the past have put spots on the back side of their pads and plates with a marker pen.

:whs: with a DA a perfectly centered pad is not absolutely necessary. Pretty close is good enough.

Thanks for the info, I really thought it to be centered, I am glad to be worng.

Great idea I will use this in future !!!

While with a orbital it doesn't have to be spot on I find it is less tiring if the pad isn't vibrating out of balance (so to speak)

Cheers
Dave.
