What's everyone's thoughts on NV Nova Boost? I've been thinking about their products like Luster and Jet for a while and never pulled the trigger since I already use more durable coating. I'm not sure when Boost came to market, but it looks like it would fall into this category.
There are two versions of Boost, the original and the v2 version that arrived about two years ago.
Boost - this is a spray and wipe quick detailer designed for maintaining ceramic coatings. The concept here is you use Boost as a drying aid or topper after each wash, in the process laying down a short-term sacrificial layer, while also providing some additional gloss and slickness. That's pretty universal stuff, but what separates Boost is that it is removed at the next wash using soap, in turn taking contamination with it. You then reapply and repeat the process. Because of that concept, I use Boost as a topper for my wheel coating to help with brake dust.
In use, I wouldn't say Boost is the slickest and glossiest quick detailer or ceramic topper, but its pretty simple to use, and that short term layer concept is somewhat unique.
Boost v2 - where the original provided short term results, Boost v2 produces lasting protection, gloss and slickness. This is a much more conventional ceramic spray sealant/detailer in that can be used as a topper or as a standalone protectant, which "can last anywhere between 3-6 months depending on driving/storage/paintwork conditions". I think Boost v2 has been more widely accepted because of its longer lasting effect.
I have found v2 to produce a slicker, glossier surface when compared to the original, it will also produce some decent hydrophobic properties. Boost v2 can get a bit streaky if over applied.
While I do use both and, I wouldn't say they sit above and beyond other similar products, especially if the short-term concept of v1 is of no interest to you. We get NV products relatively cheap in Australia, but I wouldn't say the price premium they command in the US and Canada is worth it.
