ceramic on top of PPF - Different method?

Getting full PPF done and most are recommending to also ceramic coat it. If putting on a ceramic coat different when going on a full ppf vs going on the paint?

I need to find a detailer to do this for me. If they have experience with ceramic on paint, would they be qualified to do it on a full PPF? Thanks.

A lot of detailers apply a ceramic coating on PPF. Not really needed but just gives it added protection.

I have done it (though not for PPF on the entire car) and will be doing it again in a couple days for a customer who is getting PPF put on his hood and front bumper. We will be coating the rest of the car so we might as well coat the PPF for extra protection.

Applying a ceramic coating on PPF is really no different than applying it on paint.

Application is pretty much the same. Just make sure they wipe off excess residue from any exposed edges of the PPF.

IMO:
-Due to the clarity of PPF...Before the
PPF is applied, the paint will need to be
corrected to the same extent as is done
before a Coating (“topper”) is applied.

(No need to worry about making the paint
“squeaky clean” at this juncture—the PPF
installer will do his own “prep” to the paint
with his own solutions—specific to/for the
PPF installation.)

{Note:
The PPF installer may, or may not, perform
the paint correction task. Ask around.}

-After the PPF instillation, there will probably
be a period of time before it’s ready for any
“topper”. (Then there’s the whatever “topper
prep” that is deemed to be necessary).
-Either the PPF installer, and/or the Coating
installer, will/should know what the best prac-
tice is for said time period and prep.
