I have leftover 22 PLE hpc. I’d like to use this on my painted wheels.
Question. Is this fine. Or do I need a ‘wheel specific.’ Ceramic Coating ?

Go for it. No need to use a wheel coating if you have a paint coating handy.

I've used paint coatings a couple times on my wheels and it's worked just fine.

May not be as durable as a wheel specific coating, but will work just fine.

I use the griots ceramic 3-1 spray on my wheels works looks and is durable all good

Not even close to the same thing being discussed. Ceramic sprays are completely different then ceramic coatings.

As long as the 22ple hasn't gone bad you should be fine to do your wheels in it. As Rsurfer stated, it may not be as durable but it will work fine.

I have used Cquartz UK and 22 PLE on two different sets of wheels and I don’t think I would do it again. It is just as easy to occasionally use a quality wheel cleaner, brush and then a Hydro activated ceramic like wet coat or Hydr02 and I get essentially the same effect.

Not if you use Dlux!:D

You would think ceramic would be easier to keep clean. And longevity.

Longevity is the clear winner, but I can see where Glen is coming from.

It does make the wheels easier to clean, but I don't know if coating them is a massive improvement over simply leaving them "naked". In milder weather when I'm washing my car frequently I don't notice coated wheels to be a big deal. Where it pays off for me is on my winter wheels. Most of the winter I'm rarely able to give them a good cleaning due to weather and with a coating they clean up really easily in the touchless car washes. Since I swap out the wheels seasonally, it isn't hard to clean up the wheels and coat them when they aren't on the car.

The spray-on/rinse-off product I tried seemed to actually make the wheels get dirtier faster and made them harder to clean. But that was only one product. Coatings work much better for my uses.
