CG air fresheners

Not a detailing product but after a nice polish and wax, I always top it off with making the car smell good. I bought honeydew mangocello and stripper scent. They all smell fantastic especially the stripper scent. But I am not thrilled at its performance. Not really happy. I sprayed my car's right when I came home from work this past week, 6pm, by the next day at 2pm, the scent is totally gone. Not even 24hrs. I even saturated two microfiber app pads and stuffed them under the seats and even sprayed the carpet on top of that. Very pleasent smells out the bottle, but they dont last at all.
 
I have yet to find an air freshener that lasts as long as I would like. I will eventually start using Poorboys fresheners because of the price.
 
i usually spray a vehicle right before a customer is coming. I have yet to find one that lasts more than 2 days. I love their fragrances though so I dont mind giving my personal vehicle a couple sprays every few days. You can also try to spray some on something like a large cotton ball or sponge and throw it under the seat.

why can't they make something that last? Is there something on the market that lasts? I hate those little damn tree's. They also smell so damn fake.

If they lasted a few days fine. The one's I tested last 10 hrs lol. You can even start to tell they are fading away a few hrs after.
 
Did you try to flush the AC system with one of their air fresheners? CG posted a youtube video titled:

How To Flush A/C System - Remove Smoke Odors and Pet Smells. Chemical Guys

Not sure if this would help prolong the air freshener or not.
 
Are you sure the scent is gone? Or is it just your nose has become accustomed to it and the brain filters it out?

Think of the last time you encountered a good or bad smell? At first it's Woa! that's strong. After a few minutes typically it's not as overpowering. Kind of like ladies who overdo the perfume. THEY can't smell it (thus the heaping it on), but everyone else in the room is gagging.

That said, a few days is probably the top for anything I've tried.
 
I've used the CG watermelon and although it smells great, it didn't last more then a day :(

Nothing lasts long...tried lots of them. I was away from home one day and had a bottle of my Fierce, by Abercrombie, on hand. Shot a few pops in A/C intake. I couldn't detect it after a few hours but my gf did the next day.

That's too intense lol. I don't even use the air conditioner is my cobra. Not once since 2003 when I first bought it.
 
I know what you guy's mean about getting used to the smell. The product really does only last hour's. Not even day's. Maybe I got a bad batch not sure. I was going to order more but I cancelled the order.
 
Just used CG New car in my own car yesterday noon when my order came. Went out this afternoon and it still smells in there. I will report back tomorrow before and after delivering pizzas for 4 hours and let ya know how good it still is.
 
yea man let me know. Like I said maybe I got a weak batch. who know's.
 
I just picked up a gallon of the new car scent. I use it in my dd with 168xxx on the clock. Fantastic smell and has decent longevity.
 
The scents don't last for the same reason they smell... they are made of volatile chemicals. They vaporize and fill the air but since there's a limited amount of sprayed-on material to vaporize, once it's all in the air, that's all you get.

Think of it like pouring out some isopropyl alcohol on the sidewalk... it evaporates quickly.
 
I have all the CG's scents and i have found the exact same thing. Most all smell great at first but don't last overnight. Stripper Scent seems to last the longest. Mango and watermelon smell great but only seem to last a couple of hours if that long. I have tried Poorboys and DP and none last long at all. I would love to find one that smells great and last too.

It would be great if someone from chemical guy's saw this post and the review's. Im sure they can make something that can last twice as long. They are "chemical guys" lol
