Hi everyone

Been using CG FP finishing polish for a while now and can't seem to work it properly. Does anyone know what it's work time is? It always seems to leave micromarring and I can't get rid of it. Been using a less aggressive pad on my da with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

Mike

I haven't used the FP but there is a video on YouTube by a guy who used it. Shows him using it with a PC and Hex Logic pad-from the time lapse in the video it shows around 5 minutes or 6 or 7 passes. Maybe search for "DetailsByVinny" not for sure though. To help you find the right one he uses jet seal and Petes on a 3series BMW.

Not sure if this helps but it's all I got for ya.

One ther thing-I know it's a diminishing abrasive so you should work it for a while to break it down to be even finer.

I've used their ProPolish+ a few times which is supposed to be more of a finish polish. I am not particularly impressed. It's ok, but I prefer WG FG3.0 and Opt Finish better. Heck, I prefer Opt Hyper Spray Polish better. I have not tried PO85RD and I don't need a 32oz bottle.

I have a bottle of their finishing glaze that I had hoped to try today on my wife's aunt's car. She had to work. Bummer for her.

Thanks for the reply guys! To tfullercdi - the vid is the pro polish not fp but thanks for the suggestion, think it might just work the same. Yeah I'm not too impressed with fp-it just never seems to finish out nice but I'll keep trying! Been fixing up some heavy swirling with megs uc and it seems to finish pretty lsp ready but like to still do some finishing polishing-that's where the cg fp let's me down.

Is it just me or are cg products a little underwhelming? I do like their AIO and think from what ppl say they do make some good products but are their products THAT good?

move to Menzerna polishes and you'll never look back, trust me !

Well I use them almost exclusively and I absolutely love em they make "polishing turds" less back breaking haha! I'd say they are worth the money

Guys, he's not kidding here. I've been using them after buying through Autogeek and I've never used any compound or polish that comes close.

Do you guys consider the Wolfgang Twins to be Menzerna polishes and equivalent to specific products in their line? I tried and liked the WG Twins, so I felt that I got a feel for Menz polishes as I try new products.

Which of the Menz polishes and compounds would you recommend if someone already had both WG TSR and FG around?

I assume that you guys are going to shame me into buying the PO85rd too. :)

Menzerna and specifically their ceramiclear abrasive technology was used in the Wolfgang Twins. You dont really need both but I too would suggest 085rd for jeweling paint specifically.

PO85rd is on my list to try if I can find it in less than a 32oz bottle. Thanks!

Try wolfgangs finishing glaze it works about the same as PO85RD. I have used both and can't tell the difference. They even smell and look the same.

I find FG more line Nano but both do indeed finish down quite well. I use 085rd ONLY for jeweling purposes.

What is jeweling?

aka gemming and burnishing paint.

Its the process of bringing out additional gloss and reflection on a finish that is already free of defects. You wont use the same time, and pressure your allowing the final finishing polish to do its job.

I often suggest taking a piece of jewelry or diamond ring to a jeweler for polishing. Watch them .... once you see the gold or diamond sparkle and think its done they change the wheel and bring out a different finishing rouge and just amp up the brilliance. Similar experience to me !

I use WGFG3.0 and it finishes very well. Based on comments from several people on this forum, I still plan to try PO85rd one of these days.
