OK, so I placed an order for some Chemical Guys products for my Camaro (new BC/CC paint, light metallic blue w/pearl). The plan was Wash > Clay > Blacklight > Pete's 53 > Hybrid V7 (all by hand). Only thing is, I received CG 5050 instead of the Pete's 53. Should I return it and get the 53? As far as I can tell, the only difference (apart from colour, not sure if that is important) is the Pete's 53 is WOWO while the 5050 needs a 20 min dry time. What should I do?

As far as the color goes one is white carnauba and one is yellow. The look may be different depending on what you're looking for and your eye. Regardless I would give them a call and let them know the situation.

If you check the chemical guys YouTube page there is a recent video where one of the guys there explains each different wax they have.

Keep the 50/50, you totally scored. Pete's is ok, but nothing special. Very similar look to 476. 50/50 is something very special, probably my favorite wax.

Is it the limited edition?

Thanks guys, I have decided to keep the 5050. It is the silver tin, so I guess it is the V2?

Lol That's A Big mistake... they made... Not suprised
5050 IS better, MUCH better, More expensive, Keep it...
AMAZING shine, especially for Darker colored cars
But you know what? I used it on my White BRZ and IT WAS AMAZING, STUNNING, Shiny !
Warm shine, Deep Gloss, And lasts Long!
U won a prize! Don't let it go!

You are a lucky man!!
On the CG website it says to let 5050 sit for 20 minutes.

New here and don't mean to thread Jack. I just picked some of the 5050 up on awesome deal. What applicators are you guys using to apply it?

Welcome to AG Miles.

Just as an FYI on forum etiquette, if you start a response to a thread with "I don't mean to thread jack but..." then you are in fact thread jacking.

You can start a new thread with your question and you will be much more likely to get the answers you are looking for.

Buff on.

Keep the 50/50, it's a more exspensive wax and it's definitely a step up from Pete's. I actively use all CG's waxes up to Celeste D. Also, don't top the LSP (50/50) with V-7. Wait until after the next time you wash. I like and recommend V-7 as a detail spray and have been using it for some time, but I never top a carnauba with any detail spray or glorified spray sealant right after application. Let the Blacklight and 50/50 stand on it's own and enjoy the shine.

Here's my CG products just so you know I'm not bsing you, and I also just won the new CG Vintage Wax. Great stuff by the way, the other pic is Blacklight and 50/50 no V-7 just after a detail.
