CG videos...

The only product of theirs' I've used consistently is Maxi Suds II.

One comment on the video above, the guy said he couldn't stand the main guy's lisp, lol.

for $3 cheaper a gallon, 3D's Pink Soap is every bit as good as maxi suds II if not better and after using it, i don't buy MSII anymore...

So much hate on Chemical Guys products. I actually really like their products, very easy to use, smell great and all my customers are happy. Some even bought their own supply of Chemical Guys because they were so pleased with the results. Now do i buy everything CG has? No way! They have 3 different leather conditioners, but i only buy one of them and stick to it, same goes for soaps (Mr.Pink, Snowfoam), Glossworkz Glaze, Blacklight.

I still can't believe they try to pass the vintage line off as brand new meanwhile it's all relabeled old stuff. Couldn't they at least change the names?

The leather "serum" seems new. The other stuff just looks re bottled. They will probably sell a lot if it. If you have a vintage car, you NEED vintage line products.

The one thing I always held into was their shampoos. But, I don't think they are as great as I once did. Honeydew and Maxi Suds are good in a foam cannon, and priced right. But, I never reach for their shampoos in the bucket anymore.

I do like their Sticky Wheel Cleaner because its concentrated, but I couldn't see using it in really dirty wheels. Its no better than any other surfactant wheel cleaner, but it goes a long way because you can dilute it.

The air fresheners last a few hours at best. I have a bottle of Blacklight (thanks Wors!), but haven't used it just yet. V7 is pretty good, but I still teach for Aquawax first. I do like their ClayBlock, but that's relabeled, you can get them anywhere. Same with their 4" self centering pads - their BnS.

Basically, they have to be making a killing because they are selling bulk chemicals at a semi-boutique price. You charging $10 for 16oz of something (size most people buy), that sells for $25-$40 a gallon.

I don't really care for the guy in their videos. He puts it on a little too thick and comes off as amateurish and I but too animated for me.

Sex sells? "I'm going to buy that product because the company put a sleezy looking woman in the ad to completely deter my attention from the product being advertised". Maybe in the tobacco, alcohol, and firearm industries but c'mon. I do realize CG is trying to extend their reach, but anyone looking beyond OTC products for taking care of their car is likely not the kind of person swayed by sex appeal in ads.

It's psychology. It's not important who the Customer is, put a sexy girl in an add and there is more chances the person will remember it. If the add is silly the probability of remembering it goes higher.

So when you Watch the video, you might not think "Hey I need to buy this right now!". But say a month down the road you need a wax, you are likelly to remember the ad with the sexy girl and chances are you will want to get the product a try.

Now for people like you and me who are trying to find the best product, that won't work. Because we already know CG and their products, and we buy according to specific things we are looking for. But for joe average, you bet that type of publicity works!
