So I recently bought some Sticky Citrus during the Black Friday sale and wanted to give it a try. I like the fact that it makes 96 ounces too, just like Diablo. I currently have/use Diablo wheel cleaner and like it, so I wanted to try Sticky Citrus.

So, if you have experience with one or both, please chime in with your comments, I would appreciate it, thank you!

I have used both. Diablo is my maintenance product alternated with sonax full effect. Diablo foams well when agitated and clings to the wheel very well so you can let it dwell a bit.

Greg at CG told me that sticky citrus is slightly stronger than diablo. I mixed it and used it with a yellow head foaming sprayer. It used a lot more product than Diablo, but both are cheap so no big deal. I found sticky citrus to stick less than diablo, it ran off the wheel faster even after agitation and foamed less. Cleaned reasonably well, I just like foaming effect of Diablo better. Another example of odd product naming by CG where CG had multiple products for a given purpose, but the products do work well and I use them.

Even though you didn't ask, the CG signature wheel cleaner also works very well in terms of displacing brake dust as soon as the product is sprayed onto the wheel. Signature is a very liquid product without the slight viscosity of Diablo. In ranking the ability to generate a foamy cling on wheel while dwelling after agitation, diablo first. Sticky second, and signature last.

All work, just depends on your preference of how you like a wheel cleaner to perform.

I have experience with both. I like Sticky better. It's cheaper, and Diablo wouldn't foam for me in 3 foaming sprayers. They both are surfactant based, I think if you need something strong it's just time to break out the WB or 1Z. Didn't see a significant difference in cleaning power in either, and Sticky has a better dilution ratio - making it even more cost effective. I buy Sticky by the gallon. It's what I use 90% of the time.

I use diablo with a regular sprayer. For me, it sits on the wheel like pinkish mist until I agitate it with a wet brush, which I do almost immediately. Then it foams up like crazy and I let the foam sit on the wheel for a couple of minutes.

Diablo is useful if you spray it on and let it sit for 5-10 minutes otherwise, it's no better than car shampoo and water.

I use Diablo w/ a GG foaming sprayer and it "kinda" foams, should I use the GG foaming sprayer for Sticky and a regular sprayer for Diablo then?

That's how I did it. They both are pretty good, just Diablo isn't worth the $$$ compared to Sticky.

Thanks for all the info guys, very helpful, can't wait to use the Sticky, does the sprayer it comes with work good?

I don't honestly remember what it came with, not sure it would even have a sprayer. I've always used 32oz spray bottle so product could be diluted. (I put mine in the CG 32 bottles with the grey regular sprayer for Diablo and the yellow foaming sprayer for sticky, but there are lots of bottles and sprayers out there that work the same, and probably all are pretty equivalent with same function, i.e. foaming, regular and the like).

I mixed up a 5:1 ratio in a Tropicana OJ jug last night, makes sense LOL, and I noiced that the Sticky is thinner than the Diablo, maybe Diablo should've been called sticky, LOL! Looking forward to trying it soon too, its been cold, a little snowy here in Chicagoland, so it will be getting a good test. I'll be spraying the Sticky on the wheels and letting it sit and removing when I'm done doing my rinseless wash and using my left over solution to rinse it down. Have you guys let Sticky sit for a good while w/o an issue?

So I just used it for the first time on my VERY salty and dirty wheels. What I did first was spray the wheels down, then the tires (used Bleach Black w/ foaming sprayer) and let it sit. I then did a rinseless and came back to do the tires and wheels. I used my mf glove, dunked it into the dirty water and wiped down the tires, wheels and wheelwells...twice! When I dried the tires and wheels they came out VERY clean, so I'm very happy with the perf of CG's Sticky wheel cleaner!

I prefer the Diablo. It STICKS and dwells and foams like no other. The sticky to me runs a lot. Diablo is the best smelling wheel cleaner I have used. Not too strong so may not be the best for tough jobs but it's fine for my maintenance washes.

Yeah, Diablo is more "sticky" for sure but I'm in an apartment so it sudsing up a lot doesn't help me too much. The next time my wheels are "really" salty, I'm going to use the Diablo. This is the only time my wheels get this dirty as non-winter monthes don't have the wheels ever getting dirty enough to need wheel cleaner, left over rinseless wash does just fine, especially since I've got Collinite #476 on them.

I love diablo. Use it straight and it is like P21S gel. Overall though, this stuff has many functions and is gentle. Leave your hand in a batch for 3 weeks and it won't be corroded off, drink it you won't die, it's awesome stuff.
