I purchased a new car about 2 months ago and first thing I did was wash, clay, and used Meguiar's D301.

Meguiar's D301 is great but I'm looking for something that is going to last longer since D301 is pretty much a cleaner wax. Looking to go to a dedicated multi-step process.

Issue I'm having is I'm not sure what I need. I've been searching all over autogeek/web and it's more confusing as I read different articles/threads.

I'm interested in using Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant Glaze 3.0 but not sure what steps I need to do before that. On a car with swirls looks like the step would be Wash > Clay > WG Total Swirl Remover > WG Finishing Glaze > WG Deep Gloss Sealant Glaze > Collinite 845.

However, since my car is pretty new should I skip WG Total Swirl Remover and just do Wash > Clay > WG Finishing Glaze > WG Deep Gloss Sealant Glaze > Collinite 845?

The one thing I like about D301 is that there is some correcting ability in there for very light scratches. Does WG Finishing Glaze do the same?

This may be a personal preference but what pads should I be using for each step? I have Porter Cable 7424XP.

Thanks in advance!

The WG stuff is very good, better than Meg's IMHO. Nobody can make an accurate polish recommendation without seeing your paint - but your order of process is correct.

If you don't have defects and are just looking for a little spruce up, just use the WG FG on your PC. Use 5.5" pads, white or black foam.

As far as your LSP goes, there are a myriad of combos. You just need to use *something*, if it's a sealant - maybe top it with a wax of your choice. Any wax will work on top of WG's sealant.

I think your product selection is top notch. Your steps are correct as well. As far as pads go
White or orage to polish
Black for the finishing glaze
Blue for LSP

My pad of choice is lake country flat pads. Make sure that the pad is spinning and that you are applying an adequate amount of pressure and you will do fine.

Wolfgang IMO is better than Meg's....I agree with swanicyouth. As for LSP of a wax (if you choose to) is a good quality wax. Collinite is good but I like the harder waxes maybe #476. I like the more $$ waxes but again a matter of preference and taste.

But overall you are pretty much on target apthai86

I agree with the feedback above. I will say that if you use TSR it will work as aggressively as you push the product with your pad and technique. Secondly you will have to use a finishing polish like FG after TSR - no question about it based on my experience.

Why would you put one sealant over another sealant?

Just curious:
Where in the OP's proposed processes/steps, (listed below), would he be applying one Sealant over another Sealant?

Personally I would use iron x or similar between the wash and clay

Id suggest using two coats of wg 3.0 sealant. Makes my car look really deep and glossy. Then follow it up with whatever wax you like

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to replace the Collinite 845 with WG Fuzion Estate Wax and add Iron X.

1. Wash
2. Iron X
3. Wash
4. Clay
5. WG Finishing Glaze with LC Flat Black (remove with Cobra Gold Plush JR)
6. WG Deep Gloss Sealant with LC Flat Blue (Remove with Cobra Deluxe Jr Purple)
7. Let cure overnight
8. WG Deep Gloss Sealant with LC Flat blue (Remove with Cobra Deluxe Jr Purple)
9. Let cure overnight
10. Hand apply WG Fuzion Estate Wax

Will my Porter Cable 7424XP work well? Also for the WG Fuzion Estate Wax, what pad should I use?
