Charge for a good friend?

Since you don't do this for a living I'm sure it's hard to come up with a price, and for a friend even harder since you always want to "help them out." I would base your price on wether he has helped you with something you could not do for yourself in the past. Or has helped you in general, if so then take that into consideration. If none of the above apply then a good friend price for what you have listed would be 200, especially if there's wet sanding involved. Also think about coating it after all that correction if he doesn't like to wax his own car, and just charge him the cost of whatever coating he chooses

Ya, tough call cause I have four other friends who are going to want me to do the same thing and I really do not want to start a whole big thing. I always end up doing everything for free and I am a little tired of it, computers, home repair, small engine repair, woodworking, painting etc etc. As soon as I let people know, I know something, it starts and it is can you come over and do it. EXAMPLE, friend needs fence built, 200 feet of it, I told him I use to do it on side and now he wants me to help, problem is my wife would have a fit if I spent a week over there and did not get some type of payment for all my time. Sounds bad but after awhile I see her point. You all seem to be in general agreement to tread lightly of just do it for free, ok I will.
