Cheap, Easy Tire Cleaning

wow, didnt realize was going to be so many critics. All I was saying was give it a try.

My tires are fine, they look good and super easy to clean with the ajax/comet. I baby my ride and wouldnt dare harm my goodyear duratracs (these babys aint cheap).

Just saying, its cheap, easy and tires look great after cleaning. You cant complain about .99

Has anyone even tried it thats commented ?

I use zep citrus comes in gallon size for about 11 dollars

I dilute it 1 to 1 and it does a great job

2 years ago when I decided I wanted to clean cars for side money, I did my homework by going around to my local car washes and quizzing on pricing. While there, I saw a guy sprinkle some powder on a tire brush, swirl around the tire 3 or four times and walk over to the next tire to do the same. I walked over to him and asked him about it, he was using AJAX powder, 99 cents at your local walmart.
Went home and tried it, been using it ever since. Don't have to scrub like a mad man and brights up white lettering like new. Cleans even the filthiest tire with ease and did I mention 99 cents a can, TALL can at that.

Trick for me is water, the more water, the more suds. I go around the tire till I got a good suds going and do the other one on the same side, then rinse. And if it dries before you rinse it will show up when tire dries. I've learned on hot days, if I hit the other tire and come back to rinse and that tire has dried a little, just hit it again and it cleans it right up. Takes me 20 sec to clean 1 tire.

Try it, let me know what you think.

I have actually been using Comet to clean white letters on tires for years. APC for straight up tire cleaning but Comet always seemed to bring out the white a bit better!

Just a few sprinkles on a stiff bristled brush did the trick.

I found that LA's Totally Awesome ($6 a gallon) straight works just as well as Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner. Can't comment on how that affects wheels though.

I also found OPC straight to be just as effective as Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner as well and that is known to be safe on ALL wheel types

I also do semi trucks, yes I use comet not on tires, but on the aluminum and stainless steel if they have been previously polished, Its awesome!!!!

I use a terry cloth towel, get it real wet and pour the comet in the rag, make a paste out of it.. it does a beautiful job!!!

This pic has been done, bumper, stacks, airfilter, nose piece...
this is what comet does for those objects!!!!
