Just bought this car last Saturday 6/1 for my 50th birthday.
Always wanted a green Vette so now i finally have it.

It was stored by the previous owner outside for the last 8 years so it has a little of everything, few chips, swirls, scratches, water spots, tree sap, bird droppings..... You name it and it has it.

It is currently in the garage drying out with the seats and carpet removed due to a water leak caused by some faulty weather striping. Mechanically it was well taken care but cosmetically it wasn't hardly touched for the last 8 years so needless to say it will need a very good cleaning, inside, out and top to bottom.

Here are a few pics of the condition of the paint. Sorry but these were taken in the garage with a iPhone not in the best of lighting.

Got a lot to learn and a lot to buy.

It does now have it's own spot in the garage, so it can't get any worse.:xyxthumbs:

Regards,
John

Welcome! You're gonna have a blast with the new addiction!

Great forum here.

By the way, my daughter works for the Lexington Legends minor league team - nice to see some KY people here...

Hi John,

Welcome to AutogeekOnline and congratulations on the new-to-you Corvette...

Nice green color! Click the link below and read through the thread, it will outline everything you want to do. The thread is titled for a "new" car but in reality you would go though all of these steps with ANY car that you're starting out on the path of detailing.

Also take some time to watch the video in this thread as we tackle a very similar, super low mileage 1997 Corvette.

:welcome: & Congrats on the Vette :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for all the welcomes. Been doing a lot of reading.
Since I'm still learning what would be the best option between the PC & GG "kits" for the complete novice? Looking for something that would be user friendly and the mostly forgiving during the learning curve.
