Hey gang! Checking in from Oklahoma. More specifically, halfway between Tulsa and Stillwater (home of the OSU Cowboys...go Pokes!).
Found the forums here about 3 weeks ago and have been reading and learning.
Did place a nice order that should be arriving in two days!
My wife and I are starting a side business aimed primarily at detailing semis. Our target market is dealers needing trades cleaned up before placing them on the lot, regular detailing for company-owned trucks, and for private owners. We've been asked about doing company full-sized pickups and SUVs as well. And I'd still be happy to do regular ol' cars too.
No professional detailing experience, but I think I have a pretty solid idea of what I'm getting into. My family used to own a tractor and farm implement delearship, and I did plenty of prep on new equipment when it sold. Also had the EXTREME pleasure of cleaning used tractors before they were put in the shop to be worked on. That's got to be one of the nastiest jobs ever. In fact, it should be on Dirty Jobs.
As well, I've been a firefighter for the last 14 years...us firemen like to keep our personal trucks (and wife's cars) pretty clean. We've got the time, right?
On the firefighter side, I know how what it takes to parade detail a fire engine. Lots of chrome and diamond plate. And picky Captains.
Figure semi-detailing is somewhere between the worst tractor I ever dealt with, and "truck day" at work.
Anyway, that's me. Soon as my shipment come in, I look forward to paying with all the stuff I've always wanted to buy but couldn't justify (until now! <<insert Secret Evil Laugh>>.
