Chemical Guyz?

Funny thing is that there are only 3 major companies that make ALL detailing chemicals. Period. They are just tweaked for each company.

Open any JVC, Panasonic, Samsung, or Pioneer DVD player. You will find a Sony part in all of them!

Same is true in the detailing world.

Apples to oranges. Yes, there are only a few companies that make the major components in electronics, but they are FAR from being the same equipment re branded.

This is one of those scenarios where people will believe what they want to, no matter what the proof. I'm just curious if any of you guys that "know" this to be true have used both products side by side and had them perform exactly the same? They are the same color, so they have to be exactly the same product? If someone has definitive proof beyond a shadow of a doubt, rather than speculation, I would love to see/hear about it.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter because none of us have to buy any products. We can buy what we think is best.

If you only buy AG products, then I feel sorry for you. You gotta experiment with different #### to really find out what works best. Dont limit yourself to one brand, because there is better #### out there. And if AG is the only board you belong to, then you'll never find that out.

C G is a beta line, who offers tweaking and private labels to anyone that wants to purchase from them. Steve from Poorboys has come out and said they are not exact products, some not even close, and that his chemist worked for them at one time. Who knows, but some of his products clearly have no equal from them.

I would offer that I would personally prefer to have Zymol or Zaino anyways, both lines have unique products, offer a great market of new users, and respect their vendors and try to limit resales so as to reduce competing with their other vendors. Business ethics and business practices seem more on level with PBMA too.

Scott are you giving in to all the Zaino people over on CF.
What happened to you being pro-Souveran:D

At least it's not locked yet and we are able to discuss this like human beings.

There are sooooooo many good products out there. I do this for a living though. The average customer of mine has no idea who AG is or C-G is........or ABC.......XYZ. LOL! They just want a good looking car. In the two years of doing detailing not one has requested a certain company. I could all OTC products and they could give a rats ass. They are paying for the labor while they do what's important to them.

guess no reply to my PM meghan? i'm waiting....

Very sorry, I have to admit, my job does not allow me to be on here 24/7 but as all of these members will tell you, I always get back to you. Here is it 8pm on a Tuesday, Red Sox are playing and I am home relaxing, and on the forum!:D I responded to your PM and now I am going to watch the Red Sox, email me the info I requested and you will be taken care of first thing in the morning when I get back in the office.
Now everyone go and cheer for my RED SOX!

You might want to hope for the rain delay so beckett plays tomorrow.

I know, but as a Red Sox / Patriots fans we are use to not going all the way, we are just very loyal fans. Thank goodness for Tom Brady is all I got to say!
And yes, sorry this was :offtopic: , please forgive!:o

That will end when Pittsburgh goes to New England and shows them what five super bowl wins are like.

I was a Zaino user back around 2000-2001 but everytime I challenged the product, outcome, or an issue I was black-listed. I happened on Pinnacle and was immediately taken back at look, ease of use, and candid responses from owner on what it did and how it worked. Thru today most of the Z users still regard Pinnacle as the "king of the mountain" in looks, and strive to beat it.

I have always tested each new product from their line and really never found any reason to change until the Pro line came out. I am anamored with the Z8 spray sealant specifically as works so well on so many sealants. I will admit Sal continues to press upon upgrading his lines and very true to his users, this I admire as well. If he continues to raise the bar we all win as products from all lines will need to upgrade or become sale items on clearance shelves.

I also have to admit as you get older, and time becomes available in smaller sessions, a good paint sealant is a worthy choice in car care. Souveran also tops it quite well, whenever missing that lucious dripping wet look :D

So Scott, are you currently using any Zaino products? And if so, what else apart from the Z8 spray?

I dont know, call me old school, but nuba is the only way to go. Plus Zaino people are such a pita, turns you off from the product.

Thanks, Joe, does this mean I can hang out with you and al now.

Not really using them currently, well other than Z8 when possible. I do however order each new product or update.

I have literally tried every offering. AIO is nice but can leave white in cracks if not careful. Used CS, and I believe it is truly better than Optimums OS. Z5Pro/Z8 and ZFX are equally as rewarding as Polycharger and UPP together. Leather cleaner is nice and smells great and I believe their Tire Protectant needs more gloss personally. Fusion is nowhere near 106FF from Menzerna but a nice alternative to 1/2 dozen other polishes. Their car wash is truly nice !

So at the end of the day a nice line, and should be equally rewarding to end-user just like Pinnacle, Poorboys and even Duragloss. Thats the fun of the hobby, experimenting without any preconcieved notion prior to use, and really wringing out the personal benefits and weaknesses that are specific to you, your environment, and your finish. Then talking about it without harrasement for your findings.

I do still think Pinnacle Souveran has the edge in looks, but durability doesnt come close to the Z. :buffing:

Justin..I totally agree with you. The customers want end results and don't care what you use to get them. My opinion is that if you use products that last a long time, you will go a long way to ensure repeat business vs. the other guy who's stuff vanishes after a wash or 2.
