So I wanted to make a thread for all the photos and vids made today. I'm at a carshow in Barlett so I can't post my couple pics but I wanted to get something up for you guys that are ready to go.

I will post my thoughts about the show but I was very happy with the turnout, our host and his generosity of time and effort and last but certainly not least our awesome sponsors and wealth of knowledge learned today, my eyes were opened on a couple things.

Sorry that I don't have the ability to post my pics or to give proper credit to everyone but rest assured I will very soon because everyone deserves it, BIG TIME!

THANKS to those who came from near and very far to make it a great day! So those with pics today, please...unleash the hounds!!

A big shout out to Jeff and his partners for opening their doors to us today. And all the hospitality they showed us. You guys ROCK!!!!

i completely wish i could have made it there!! looks like a blast, but unfortunately (well not quite) i had a customers car to finish then work tonight...which is in Woodstock.... Next year i'm def making it a point to make it to the Detail Day!!!

Finally made it home and exhausted. Had a good time looking forward to seeing the pictures.

First off thanks to Jeff for opening his doors to our group, without a place to go this would've never happened, period! Having a clean and open space was invaluable, then his friends coming by in the GT-R's, Vipers, Z cars and the Ferrari's, awesome!

Next our sponsors whom went ABOVE AND BEYOND with their generosity! Thanks to Forrestt and Mother's for sending us so many items and let me say this, your rubbing compound and finishing polish blew me away, I had NO idea what that stuff could do...AND IT DID! With so many smaller brands available here on AG and fanboys for them a large company like Mother's can and does get overlooked but I can tell you this, when I place my next order @ AG I will be getting the rubbing compound and finishing polish without a doubt. So please check out Mother's and you'll be surprised what's avaialble, seriously!

Next up is a BIG thanks to Dave from Lake Country, not only an actual rep from the company but a car guy too, his S2K was awesome, especially the engine bay, sooooo clean and smoothed out! I also learned a lot from because he was there to answer questions, all of them and let me try out the wool-foam, flat purple pad, completely blew me away! I will certainly be getting a couple new polishing pads after this without a doubt. Once again Dave, thanks for coming down from Wisconsin to our event!

Next up is Auto Geek, Meghan and group REALLY came through, BIG TIME! When I saw that table of donated products I was very impressed. You guys are why were all here, your the reason we all came together in the first place, different people from different backgrounds, ages, sexes, etc but for one reason, to take pride in our rides! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Last but not least was Matt from Gold Eagle/Aerospace 303, sorry you couldn't attend but I'm sure the auction was well worth it, hope you did good selling that 300! Aerospace Fabric Protection is one of the products I chose and I'm looking forward to protecting the cloth seats of my new car with it. Obviously everyone loves their protectant as well and interested in the windshield stuff.

I also appreciate everyone who set aside to show up from near and far. I know some of you had to get up early and make a 2-4 hour drive to come out, the time and gas costs money, then there's your time, can't put a price on that! Sunday is a day of rest and some of us only have this day off, so using it to attend an event which some people didn't know what to expect is appreciated by yours truely.

In closing I learned 2 things, one I'm about to go and act on as soon as I'm done with this post and that is the baggie test. Sure I've seen Mike post about it but I thought nothing about it. Yeah I've used the Speedy Prep towel and checked the paint with my bare hand and was happy with the results, but after using it on our donor car and then Paul suggested the baggie test and I was shocked....grit through the baggie! I will now be claying and use the Speedy Prep towel for maintence once a month, period. The next thing I learned was how awesome the Rupes 21 is! The on and on about it turned me off and then there's the price but honestly, after using it, both are justified. Sure I can get results from my GG6" but they happen faster and easier with the Rupes, period. That machine is smooth and powerful. I wish I could justify buying one but I don't do enough cars on the side to buy one, hopefully at some point I will be able to. This is why you come out to these events, get the experience IN YOUR HAND!

OK, time to go down and do the baggie test, I'll come back here and report back and also post my pics too and BTW Louis, post that video of the Rupes in action, please!

Big thanks to everyone who attended, organized, and donated products. I had a blast!

With that said; I know there were more individuals who took pics/video's.. please post them up when you get a chance! :) I'm sure i'm in one of the pics :)

Great time yesterday- thanks to everyone who came out!

Thanks for the kind words Roger! Thanks to Jeff, Roger and everyone else who contributed to a great day.

I really enjoyed myself, and had a good time talking to the many that came. :dblthumb2:

When I posted my thank you's I was just about to clay, wash and AW my car after applying what I learned this past Sunday, i.e. the "baggie test" and although nowhere near what the Rolla felt like I did infact feel grit, so I was just about to head down to the garage and do a microdetail on car and because of that distraction I left out a sponsor and I feel like crap for doing so and that was the grand prize:

The Duragloss Enviroshield Kit.....(as well as a gag gift, AA Butter Smooth Wax, LOL) and the winner was MadMerc and we was blown away with it. BIG congrats to John for winning the prize(s), I'm sure he'll enjoy using the kit, I know I do. What's better than paying under $50.00 for A COMPLETE COATING KIT...WINNING ONE, doesn't get better than that!

Thanks to Bill @ Duragloss for providing the grand prize for our Chicagoland Detail Day!!!

Definitely want to thank everyone who made this possible. I can even mention how much I learned yesterday, still trying to process a bunch of it. Huge shout out to Jeff for welcoming us all in and making sure we had some sweet rides show up. Also, a big shoutout to Roger for organizing this all and taking lead of the event. Again, I can't stress how much I felt like a noob going into this, but definitely have taken a lot out of it and can't wait til my day off this week to get working on my car.

Neat trick with the slo-mo. What did you think of the machine ?

really liked it and hated it at the same time. lol. Loved how smooth and quick it was, but hated the price tag. Too steep for me at the current moment. Maybe in the distant future but that machine with the prototype pads we were using were phenomenal.

It was nice meeting everyone and had a great time conversing with everyone.

The shop was beautiful Jeff--thanks for hosting/organizing the event and thanks to Roger for also getting everything organized.

Thanks to the vendors as well and the various professionals there giving some great insight to the world of detailing.
