Chicagoland detail day (photo dump)

Roger started the correction on the left front of the donor car with Meguiars M101. That was switched to Americana " Amerirocks. Then polished with HD Polish. Further into the correction another change-up was cutting with HD Adapt. For MadMerc and the others that took turn trying these combinations , what were your impressions ?

I preferred the HD Adapt followed by the HD Polish. IMO it gave better results with less work. I did love the Mother's compound / polish combo that I tried on the trunk.

Speaking of the trunk... It was in terrible shape, very much like the hood. I did 6 section passes with the Americana on an orange foam pad w/Flex, and it removed a lot of swirls but still left many. I followed that up with the M101 and it gave better results, but not perfect.

How did it turn out after the HD?

I like HD polish, and the M101, however in my opinion the Americana dusted too much for my liking. Still a good cutting product.

We finished it up with the Mothers duo. It turned out near perfect, except for a few deep scratches.

I know Ron worked on the trunk too and he asked me what I thought and I couldn't believe it! Now that was HD, right? If so, unbelievable! I know Genesis coupe worked the trunk and a lot of it came up but then Ron used what he used and it came out perfect, awesome product used there along with technique as well!

I would've taken more pics but between working on the car and being asked about the lunch and giveaways I forgot to take more pics or I would've taken pics of each individual car from our group that attended, sorry guys.

I think we needed a Meg's mf pad for a little better cut and the dusting IMO was due working the product too long . With the Rupes the longer working time wasn't necessary. Also applying more or less product is another adjustment we didn't try.:xyxthumbs:

Thank you for the compliment Roger. No, the final corrected finish in that picture was done with the 2 bottles of Mothers sitting there with a Flex 3401 and LC Orange and White flat pads. I've been telling you guys Mothers polishes are the real deal, now you see it. Genesis got a mini clinic he even learned how to edge a pad, make him teach you too. I was hoping to share with more but just not enough time. BTW who photo shopped all that grey in my hair???

OH that must have been all that HD dust you guys were talking about.

It's already been here and passed. Problem 2old has is he can't remember being this old. :xyxthumbs:

I can now buff the top of my head now that I'm comfortable enough with the GG6", what polish should I start with, LOL!

Mother's rubbing compound and finishing polish are my next 2 polishes, thank you again to Forrestt and Mother's for hooking us up, GREAT STUFF!

Roger I said Genesis got a mini clinic, my mistake. It was MadMerc that got some 1 on 1 time with the Mothers polishes on the trunk so he's your go to guy now for a little schooling.

Are there more pics?
