Chips and scratches

Winter is not nice! As I was washing my car this morning I noticed some small chips and scratches on my hood from the rock salt that has been put on the roads.

My question is if anyone has an idea on how I can fix these small chips/scratches? The chips have small lifting around it and can see a lower layer. (New to this so not sure what the lay is called under the top coat/paint)

Sorry haven't been able to post any pictures of the chips and scratches. I haven't had time or good weather to wash my car to get a clear picture. It has been negative and in the single digits.
