I've been meaning to post this for a while as I thought some of you might be interested.
This happened on Christmas day, when my wife's nephew placed his Christmas present on the bonnet of our black Merc which I have previously paint corrected.
The present in question was a remote controlled monster truck, still in it's box and obviously with a fair bit of grit stuck to the bottom. I could have cried when I saw the resulting scratch as he dragged the box off the car.
Here is a pic of the damage in sunlight and under the halogens.

I was doubtful whether I would be able to remove all of the damage as it appeared quite deep in parts. My process involved taping off half the bonnet and the top of the guard. I didn't want to reduce the thickness of the clear coat on parts I had already corrected.
I then used Menzerna FG500 on a LC Orange CCS pad followed by Menzerna SF4000 on a LC White Flat pad. I managed to remove 95% of the damage with only two very slight scratches remaining but you really have to look hard to see them.
Paint corrected under halogens.

Out in the sun. There is a slight hologram here but that is just the residue of the polishing oils catching the sunlight.

And finally a pic of the car......unwashed by the way
Thanks for looking!
