I have recently purchased a 1962 Imperial LeBaron 4-door hardtop. Most of the outside chrome is actually fairly good but the lower edge of the rear bumper is faded. I would imagine that some of this fading is due to exhaust fumes. What is the best way to remove this fading while not damaging the actual chrome?

Chrome

Chrome is an actual plating, so what you are doing is actually removing oxidation.

I would trying cleaning with P21S Polishing Soap. I would then polish with a great chrome polish like Mothers or Flitz. Use a powerball as needed, and hopefully you will be glimming in no time .
