They're hard to keep clean on my F150. They're even harder to keep water spots off of. Any suggestions for products? How about cleaning techniques?

I would use a very fine cleaner polish by hand,I sprayed some water spot solution remover on a Silverado and it turned purple on me.protect with some collinite wax.

Claybar to get rid of the water spots, then a good coat of sealant. I'd imagine DP Wheel Coating would work great as well.

Are you sure they're chrome plated? Have any pix?

Mine are...

0000 steel wooooooool

My steel wool is actually 00
Reason I bought this 1 is because the label says it's for cleaning metal golf clubs and cleaning chrome, including rust on chrome. I've never tried 0000 steel wool.

I personally try to keep 0000 steel wool away from chrome as much as possible.

If they're clean and your looking to put something on, one thought is CP Reload.

I would suggest a sealant/polymer type product on chrome rather than a wax.

oooo steel wool is a detailers major got to have.everyone has there own system or product preference.weekenders tend to be timid,as professionals use it all the time.I did a 05 vette today full job used steel wool for very stubborn shoe marks on the edge of seat once and done.you have to know the materials and the secrets of detailing with steel wool.

Has to be fine oooo, anything above that you will inflict major damage.l would never advise any wrong risky advice,ok maybe 1 or 2 times but it's perfectly safe.you have to know what material it is prior to steel wool cleaning.

What do you mean though? I'm saying.. The back label of Rhodes American 00 Steel Wool says 1 of the recommended applications is chrome automotive wheels. That's the reason I bought it quite some time ago.. I've used it many times and it's never scratched my wheels.

seating surfaces...On a "leather" seat!!
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!

Once and done—that's no joke. :smh:

Based on the description on the label, which grade would you choose? I choose 00. I've been using this for years and never scratched chrome wheels. And I have my wheels to prove it.

@GSKR. Do you have any pics of the chrome you mentioned cleaning up today with the 0000 steel wool?

you can do what you want, just be conscience while using a more abrasive steel wool.

I'd love to see some pictures of some of your work. Can you share?
