good stuff. After I lost my favorite WW glass towel I bought the thin glass towels at autozone. They suck. I started using newspapers with megs glass cleaner and never looked back.

Are you referring to the green towels that come in a pack of 2? Because I use them with just hot water and they work great. They never leave any lint and I've yet to have any streaking problems. I will add that the windows I'm cleaning are on a fairly new (2012) car so they are pretty clean to begin with.

Shane is there a reason for u to use waffle weave towels? I have been using "terry style" microfiber towels like the Gold Plush and find them satisfactory on my car's windows just wondering if waffle weave will make cleaning easier??

I use waffle weave because they don't lint or leave streaks like some other towels I've used. I have used the Gold Plus towels on glass as well, and while they do work great (especially in conjunction with a waterless wash on exterior glass) waffle weaves such as the ones I mentioned are just more economical, especially when you are using several to do one car.

Very nice write up. I use the same method as far as towel use and rotation with exception being that I spray on the the glass cleaner on the towel. My reason is

that you get some over spray on your interior. Being that it is a cleaner it would dissolve any interior protectant you have applied. No offense, I just was wondering

if maybe I'm seeing it the wrong way. I guess if it's a full detail you treat your dash/doors etc. after cleaning the glass but sometimes I will just do the windows.

I typically use a foaming glass cleaner for interior windows. If you shake the can each time prior to spraying it on the glass, you will basically eliminate drips and usually overspray as well.

yes although to be fair I did wash them with other towels. Newspaper is cheap, lint free and works well. No, I am not homeless.

I have never tried using waffle weave microfibers. I have had the misfortune of regular microfibers and they leave fibers everywhere on the glass. When I usually clean glass I use the two towel method also. I use one with just plain water and wipe the glass down good and dry with another towel. Cleaning windows is one my most hated jobs!!!

One quick tip I should add to this - wash your hands before cleaning your windows. If you have any body oils on your hands, or remnants of dressings, wax, cleaners, or dirt, this will transfer to your towel and cause unnecessary streaking. Work clean! :buffing:

If you want streak free glass try a Bounce softener towel that you use to soften clothes.
No chemicals of any kind, just wipe up and down then side by side.
Takes two towels to get the job done but it's worth it.
Not sure why it works so well but it does.
My wife read an artical on it, I tried it in disbelief.

Works great of mirrors too.

Are you saying to just use the Bounce only? Is this done as the cleaner all by itself or do you wash the windows first, then use the Bounce?
