Cilajet

This is the only LSP I use on my space ship, but I prefer a traditional carnauba on my time machine.

I was also talked into the remarkably expensive cilajet application on my 2013 BMW 650iX GC. I have been very disappointed with it. Not the product, but the application. I knew nothing about detailing when I bought the car and started using this site afterwards. There was no surface prep other than clay bar prior to applying the cilajet and eventually I realized the car was swirled like crazy. They had not done any paint correction prior to the coating. I complained, but there was nothing the dealer would do. After about 5 months, it developed a slight gray haze and I decided I had enough. I have since polished it off with Pinnacle swirl remover and finishing polish with the Flex 3401 and LC pads. That process removed the cilajet AND removed most of the swirls. It's a DD so 90% was good enough for me. I then applied some McKee's 37 coating and I am thrilled with the results.

So, the tuition was high, but the lesson was well learned.
