Brett here again showing the work I did on my neighbor's cinnamon red 1997 Acura CL 3.0. Some of the paint was original, other areas like the hood, front and rear drivers quarter panels had been repainted (about 6 months ago) due to an accident. The stock paint had some light to moderate swirl marks/scratches. The repainted areas had buffer trails from being cut by the body shop. I recently acquired the Meguiar's Microfiber Correction system and thought this car would be a perfect candidate to test it out on. Overall the car had a wonderful turn around and I am a big fan of the Meguiar's MF System. :xyxthumbs:
Process:
Wash:
DP Autobathe Wash w/grit guard
Meg's Wheel Brightener (boar's hair brush & wheel mit)
Meg's Body Solvent (10:1) on lower grime/wheel wells
WW Dry
Exterior Detail:
Meg's masking tape (on main concern areas)
Meg's Clay w/Meg's LT Detailer (full car)
Meg's D300 Cutting Compound w/cutting disc
Meg's D301 Finishing Wax w/finishing disc
Griot's DA on speed 4
Wolfgang DG Selant 3.0 (LC grey pad, speed 1)
Meg's Glass Cleaner
Meg's #40 on rubber trim
Meg's Waterbased Dressing (FS) on plastic trim/tires/wheel wells
Meg's Mag/Aluminum Polish #0000 steel wool on exhaust tips
Meg's LT Detailer on jambs
Microfibers
Interior Detail:
Thorough Vacuuming
Various brushes in crevices/vents
Meg's APC on a few areas (make-up residue)
Meg's APC & APC+ on carpets w/brush
Meg's Leather C&C (leather cracked & had holes, in need of repair or replacement)
Meg's #40 (almost everything..)
Meg's Glass
Meg's LT Detailer on woodgrain accents

I taped off my main areas of concern, I did not charge my neighbor anywhere close to full price for this job so I did not tape EVERYTHING off. I was very careful around the exposed trim and did not get any compound or wax on it.

During the wash the car wasn't beading at all, and I knew some of the car had been repainted so I was confident the paint was free of any old wax, etc.

That looks great! I have always loved those cars. I have looked and looked for one, but could never find one with low enough mileage that I was interested in...
But excellent job overall!

I can't imagine any detailer not having the Megs MF system at this point in time. Incredible results everytime especially the D300/ cutting disc step. If more cut is needed just add a drop if M105.

Excellent job and the car looks awesome.:xyxthumbs:

One question though, does anybody see any problems with using a sealant over the D301 Finishing Wax? I understand it has some carnuba in it and I noticed the OP did this in their process.

Well done, the owner had to be ecstatic!

Those honeycombed grills that are impractical to do by hand used to drive me nuts. I discovered Meg's aerosal Trim Detailer was just the ticket to make 'em look like new for 2 or 3 months. It's no longer available unless you find some old stock, this is the replacement, probably reformulated for VOC compliance.

There are certainly not an abundance of this year/model Acura in good shape. Thank you for your compliments!

Looks great!

Thank you!!

A job well done!

Thank you I appreciate it!

Yeah I've been waiting for a little while I suppose.. M105/M205 has been my primary system for corrections but this is a great system and a LOT less dust than 105! But I absolutely agree with you, thanks.

Very nice job on the Acura!

Thank you very much!

Appreciate it man I strive for excellence on every job, thank you!! Also, the finishing wax has some carnuba yes but i found it finished with zero residue and I feel the sealant applied well in my opinion.

Great Job!

Thank you I appreciate it!

Nice job and great write up!

Thank you so much Meghan, that means a lot!!

Well done! How many compounding passes did you make?

Thanks!! I would apply 4 small dots around the cutting disc and work it into sections at a time working 2 passes at moderate pressure, 1 pass at light pressure, and 1 pass at machine weight only. About 4 passes.

Yeah the owner and her husband both were really happy with it! Nice product suggestion i have been looking for a way to dress those intricate areas like that. Thank you!!

Great job! You should be a representative for Meg's lol

Thank you very much! Ha, I'd love to have a position with or affiliated with Meguiar's some day, they are a great company.

Incredible work Brett! You have some lucky neighbors.

That paint responded really well to the MF system. Keep up the good work.

Great work, nice write up, and what a finish on a car of its age.

Looks brand new

Thank you very much for your kind words.

Thanks Stephan! It responded great to the process. Really glad you pushed me to get the Griot's DA too, it makes all the difference in the world.

Great work, nice write up, and what a finish on a car of its age.

Thank you very much for checking out my post and your nice compliments!!
