Clay, amazing clay

So I clayed my 2011 Dodge Charger last night for the first time. I've owned it for 3 months and figured not much would come off on the clay. Boy was I wrong! It was very very dirty.

Clay is just amazing as a product and process. What did we ever do without it?

Detailers used to buff paint flat with a rotary polisher before clay to remove bonded contaminents. Which would cause lots of swirls as the contaminents were dislodged and worked over the paint. So correction with clean tools was required after making paint flat.

Nowadays we have ultra fine clay that can decontaminate paint without marring , and can follow up with wax right after.
