I believe it's the solvents in the cleaners waxes/AIOs that help remove the road grime, sometimes with the help of mild abrasives.

Like Eldorado said, solvents and clay products do not mix well.

Car Wash Plus is said to have some form of polishing abrasives.

Cleaner waxes/AIO and solvents do not do much for iron deposits.

Hello folks - yes, i am lazy. But i like to keep my daily driver as clean as possible. I am exploring and learning about cleaner waxes (or AIOs) right now. But i thought, is there a “cleaner clay lube”? This way, cleaning and decontamination is conjoined into a single step.

They have, there are several categories of Cleaner Waxes that include chemical cleaners along with mild abrasives: How to choose and use a one-step cleaner/wax by Mike Phillips:

The problem is anything that is above surface bonded (such as sap, over-spray, pollen, etc...) will now end up in your pad mixed with your product, or possibly not removed at all... It's your car so it's your choice... If you want to skip clay, go ahead. There are lot of options to shorten your time as already mentioned. Clay disks on a DA, Clay Mitts, etc.. I love my Nanoskin Clay mitts. And, you shouldn't need to clay more than once a year... Thus the added 12 to 15 minutes using a clay mitt or DA clay disk is worth the time doing the job doing it correctly.

If this is for customer cars, your doing a dis-service by not claying before polishing.

IMHO:
Many car-care products we often used to
remove above surface contaminates—a
long time before automotive clay was even
invented/created—can still be used.

An example of one such product is Meguiar’s
Cleaner Wax: an All-in-One; one that comes
bottled in a liquid, “lub(e)-ricious” form; one
that has been around since 1973.

Thanks. I understand all of this. I was just throwing out a question there. I think its a great idea to have a clay lube that acts as an AIO as well.

I guess the technology is not yet feasible... :)
