I understand the benefits of claing but do ou need to do this if you are polishing? Wouldnt the polishing remove the same stuff the clay does?

You wouldn't want dirt to build up on your pads. I'm guessing it would gum them up!

Not good picking up those smal chips in the pad, and some is hard to remove with just polishing anyway.

Tryed both, and imo clay is super as a "first" step before polishing

Clay clay clay! You have to do it :).

Polishing won't do anything for the embedded grit and this is why you have to clay. There is no substitute!! (except for that new foam block)

I always clay customers cars before polishing.

Well everyone one has said iit but I would suggest claying. Put it this way, if you don't clay the contaminents left on the surface will get on the pad and it will creat lots of micromarring...leaving you with an even worse looking paint.

Well just my opinion.

not to mention the paint is SOOOOOOOO smooth when you finish....it pretty incredible...

SO CLAY FIRST! haha
