Clay / polish question

Are there any clay bars out there / available that will take out surface contaminants -- yet fine enough that polishing will not be necessary?

The finest clay I have used that is still effective is Pinnacle. It is the most likely clay to not leave marring behind. Won’t always be the case tho. Try a test spot.

Shall I say it is the most gentle clay product on the market..

I've not only had good luck with the Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay - I've also shared a number of car detail projects I've done personally where I chose this clay just because I believe it will give me the best chance to clay the car, remove the contaminants and keep marring to a minimum.

BUT - my RULE is - IF I'm going to clay a car - I"m also going to do at least one machine polishing step.

Here's another old 2-door European job I used the Pinnacle Ultra Fine grade clay on, this car had SUPER SOFT paint


Original BASECOAT/CLEARCOAT paint - 1996 Porsche 993


But again, I also machine polished afterwards.
