Howdy!! I don't necessarily need the best, and I have lube, but what would be best and least likely to scratch my new Laguna blue Stingray? Or are they all essentially equal? It has been a while since I fussed. Thank you! Feed back please

Nanoskin wash mitt fine grade will work great ant you can use it up to 40 times.

A regular clay bar will always be my number one choice cause you actually connects with the car but a clay mitt is also great cause you can wash and clay at the same time and imo as long as there is enough lubercation none of the clay systems we damage the paint

A clay mitt - a great idea!! Knew I was out of the loop. Are there different brands of these like there are clays and do they still use the same lubes? How does it work, if I may ask?

And thank you all!!! :-)

Congratulations!!

-Meguiar's: Smooth Surface Clay Kit; or Mild
-Clay Magic: Blue (fine)
-What was the clay you used on the 2007...
The Corvette CC is usually quite "hard".

Least aggressive first.

Yes same lube but with the mitt I wash the car and leave it wet and then use lube. To do a whole takes about 10-15 mins.

If you are just doing your own car once in a while you might want to consider the fine grade sponge instead of the towel or mitt. Decontaminates just as good but is smaller and costs a lot less. Can still do 10+ cars with just one sponge.

Oh my another suggestion. Things sure have changed since I bought my little red. I am so confused I do not know what to try. How did I miss so much in 4 years of not being on the forum? LOL. Wow.

The other vehicles I take care of are my husband's - a white Prius and a burgundy Relay - so I have use for the stuff - but now three choices...yikes.

Hi Bob,
I used the Pinnacle fine grade and then when I ran out clay magic. I HATE the hard cc on the vettes - they are impossible!
Open to any suggestions!!
Thanks,
Lauren

I'd still go with the traditional clays...they're: Tried&True.
And then: Your new Corvette will be the only one that's Blue!

:)

Ha ha, that's cute!
What lube do you like best and why, or do you feel they are all created equal? I have tried a few and never noticed any difference.

Thanks much,
Lauren

As bob said i would go traditional clay. SOFT.

However, beforehand i would use an iron decontaminant such as Iron X to remove off the metal from the paint's pores.

Let's not marr the new Vette so use the best clays and lube you can afford not some Meguiars or Clay Magic crap. Wolfgang, Uber, and Ricardo make wonderful clays.

The Pinnacle Ultra Poly Blue Clay is ultra fine I've found. Little worry about paint damage with this one.

Really great if you're wishing for a finesse clay. Get the two bar kit, and match it with two bottles of Pinnacle Clay Lube.

Yes, maybe a new Vette has hard paint, but how bad can the contaminants be to need a quite aggressive clay at this point?

Many thanks.
I would like to know - the Iron X - where is the car picking up iron - on the rails? I have never heard that before. Does it result in a smoother surface and how do you use it? Please excuse my ignorance here..I am interested in learning all I can. I love detailing cars but the choices have broadened so much, and I was using up my giant stash...

I can afford whatever. A friend mentioned Ricardos. What would you use were it yours?
Thanky!!!

I used the Pinnacle fine clay and lube for my red vette. No it does not need aggressive clay, but it def needs claying!

What a sense of humor...Thanks!
A good chuckle can warm the soul on a cold Winter's night.

You are kidding about: Crap clays from Clay Magic.
And of course you're joking about the wherewithal of Meguiar's sourcing-abilities.
