Hello,

I've been out of the detailing loop for awhile, but just purchased a left-over new '08 Mitsubishi Evo X which needs some serious help.

It sat on the lot since October of last year until I brought it home last Monday, so to say it's a little dirty is an understatement.

I started working on it last night and after a wash, went over it with the only clay I had, which was the Meguiar's yellow bar from their consumer kits. The problem is, the paint still feels dirty after claying it.

My question is this: What clay would you recommend for a car that's set not/cleaned out on a dealer lot for about 7 months?

Also, it's a very metallic silver, so any recommendations on a cleaner/polish/was that will really bring out the metallic and gloss well?

Thanks,

-Ben

Meguiars Red or Clay magic red clay. Inspect the paint and correct it from there. Polishing the paint, getting rid of the swirls, scratches and RIDS is where you will get the best look out of your car. Once the car is polished then you can use a cleaner if you choose or go right to your sealant or wax.

Well, I use the Clay Magic BLUE Clay. The 200 Grit. I've used it on 7+ vehicles so far and will be using it some more. Just make sure you always feel the paint after you clay a section to make sure it's smooth.

Just my $.02.
