Clay

I find that if you run warm/hot water to the clay prior to use, you can manage it better, it performs better, and it doesn't fall apart. I use clay magic, and I've been doing the hot water routine, and it really keeps the clay more pliable

I like cm blue, did honda accord and left no marring.Finish was as smooth as silk.Used microwave to keep it warm and pliable.30 seconds max.:D

tonyspop - just looking at that pic of Simoniz makes my shoulders ache

Z06-Goose- great tip, thanks

I have this blue clay, but the wrapping doesn't say Clay Magic on it. It's from my friend's dealership he used to work with. It works for me. It's a pretty hard clay, but pliable. I had a piece breaking apart cause I used it with car soap solution. I'm thinking of either getting DP clay, or the Clay Magic. I think I saw CM in Car Quest. I can never find it in Pep Boys, Autozone, or Kragen.

All the autozones around here keep the CM at the front counter or you have to ask them, but they keep the mothers clay on the shelf with the rest of the detailing supplies.

I know this is more about mothers clay/ clay magic... anyone use Meguiars Professional Detailing CLay (mild)?? I ordered some a while ago havent put it to the test. I found mothers clay to be decent the 10times ive clayed :)
Thanks

I jsut received 2 sticks of DP clay... I prefer it much over mothers clay which just doesnt have the bite I prefer...

Any chance you have tried pinnacle clay to see how it compares to DP? I've been waiting to add dp to my next order, but I always forget it.

I asked Dwayne about it, and DP clay is meant for professional use (well isn't everything for pro use? :D). He said it doesn't mar the paint and it's a medium grade.
