Hey guys, I just had a quick question.

I'm going to be claying my jeep then using collinite 845 to "seal" it before winter. I know I'm alittle late.

Anyways, Now, I know its normally wash, clay, polish, seal. Basically.

Now, do you guys normally do wash, clay, wash again, polish then seal or should I just do a like, hose down, clay, wash with soap, then polish n seal.

Any suggestions?

If it was me I would do the follwing process Wash, clay, rinseless or quick detailer wipe down then proceed to polishing, and or sealing the paintwork with LSP of choice

I don't wash after I clay, I go straight from the clay step to the compound/polish step or from clay to wax/sealant. Rarely will I clay and then not polish, but if I don't I'll throw a glaze like poorboys because clay can leave some marring.

The car must be clean before you clay

In my opinion, "hose down" is not adequate

I do NOT wash after claying, even if I do not plan to polish. I used ONR at lube strength and just wipe off after each section

Some people wash after every step in their process

Renny Doyle is now advocating an IPA wipedown after Compounding and then again after Polishing, if he is applying a coating

Hmm OK, I have done griots garage speed detailer which doesn't have a wax in it it at all so I'll probably just do that after claying I think. Unless I can keep my jeep streak free while claying. If i can can then I'll just deal it.

Not familiar with the Griot's Speed Detailer

Be aware that some detail sprays are too slick and can prevent the clay from.doing it's job. One example is Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer

Do you know of any articles or reviews to back this up? I'm not questioning you; the reason I ask is because after I used up my Meg's Quik Detalier for my clay bar lube, I just grabbed some UQD. After claying, I noticed that I was having to clay some areas 2-3 times. I almost stepped up to a more aggressive clay, but since the paint is a 2012 vehicle in great condition, I decided against it. In hindsight your statement seems to make sense.

Well I'm not going to use it for clay lube, I'd use it after if theres any left over residue.

Hey Guys,

I have a question so my camry is starting to pick up some light surface scratches from people banging into it. Im looking for a a scratch remover that will do the job that is easy to use. I have both griots garage buffers but don't want to spend the money on scratch removers that don't work.
Also looking for products that correct imperfections in the glass

let me know

Ben
