Clean Porsche Headlights, quick detailer ok?

Besides soap and water, what can be used to quickly clean porsche headlights? Quick Detailer ok? Tks

Hope so. I do it all the time with with QD or waterless wash.

Yes, QD is fine. You can also use the McKee's product mentioned above or Plexus afterwards.

How are those headlight specific products any different than using a normal LSP on the headlights and then maintaining them with QD spray or the normal car shampoo used on the rest of the vehicle?

Yes it is. It is also good for the IP plastic over the gauges. And radio displays.

The outermost lense will be plastic. I think when auto makers quit using sealed-beam headlights in the 70's~80's, it was the end of glass external headlight lenses. Now the optics and lamp units whether halogen, HID, or LED, are all part of a single unit with an outer plastic shield protecting the optics inside.

Yes, all modern day vehicles have plastic headlights. It’s part of some ridiculous safety regulations regarding head on collisions and glass headlights somehow posing a hazard...

Are you saying there’s no vehicles after the 80’s that came with glass headlights?

Looking back at some pictures of vehicles from that era and remembering cars I owned, the 90's may have been the transition years, and it may have been model/make dependant.

I remember now a 93 Pontiac Grand AM I owned for a few years, and it had glass headlight lenses despite the replaceable bulbs and not the whole sealed unit. However, Toyota's, Subaru's, and BMW's I owned/drove during the mid/late 90's all had plastic headlight lenses. I remember the Ford Contours of that time having plastic lenses, but I'm not sure about the Escort, they look to be glass. I believe Jeep Wrangles kept using sealed beam units long after everyone else moved on to the modules we know today with replaceable bulbs.
