Today I decided to clean my floor mats. As I do not have a hot water carpet extractor I used my:

  • Pressure Washer
  • Woolite
  • Scrub Brush
  • Shop Vac
  • Ice scraper (perfect to use as squeegee)
Before Picture

I started by squirting the mats with a little water. I then sprayed them with woolite and added more where needed. I scrubbed with my brush all different way to loosen the dirt:

Next I let the woolite soak in and do its work. After letting it soak in I rinsed it with my pressure washer (foamed like crazy and took forever...i think my mixture was too strong)

After rinsing FOREVER there was still some suds. I used my ice scrapper as a squeegee to get some water out before using my shop vac.

I then used my shop vac to get as much water out as I could and set them in the sun to dry..

Overall I am please with the results and this method leaves me optimistic as my shop vac I use is only 3.0 horsepower and soon I will be acquiring a rigid 4 gallon 5 horsepower vac with the specialty car care kit and claw attachment :) I cant wait to see what I can do with that!

Pressure washers do come in handy!! :dblthumb2:

Turned out pretty good. I need to clean mine

Thanks!! :) gotta make due with what i got lol i just need to find a way to do the carpets inside of cars without an extractor....i cant pressure wash inside of a vehicle lol!!

I found GTechniq W2 mixed 7:1 works great on carpets. Spray on, agitate, spray a little more, wipe up with a MF, clean!

Looks much better. You could always remove the carpet from the car and do it.
