Cleaned up Dealers MESS....

Thanks Every one....

First off orngez is right...the CG sealant was super slick this morning..VERY Impressed..it takes a lot to Impress me...I had people in work come over to look at the truck and ask when I can do thier cars and truck..I usally do about 20-25 during the summer for people in work...

Second...the difference I was told between the Pro Menzerna is the abrasives..the Pro uses a milled type abrasive meaning it is milled to a certain shape and that is how it cuts the super hard clear coats..I also found out you will not need any pads but a green ...white and a blue pad...they work the best..I tried a orange and it was leaving micro marring...tried a yellow cut pad..forget it...marred ..I use the LC CCS pads..I tried others and these byfar worked best...not taking away from the other pads ..but these worked great..started to cut on the first pass...I tried a few other brand pads ..but these worked best as I said....no need for heavy cut pads..Green for real heavy stuff...white for the best corrections on swirls and marring...I used white on 97% of the paint....I love that pad..I ordered another dozen last night...Now I use the 5" pads on both the Rotary and PC...the polish worked great with both....The 5 inch pads on a PC actually give you pad rotation with a downward pressure...the pad spins like mad..the smaller pad gives you less surface resistance and better heat to work your polishes....just like a 4" pad...they correct like mad on a PC...

the blue pad was for the PO85RD...thats the ultra fine polish to get your best gloss

Another good thing with Menzerna...is the Abrasive scale is light...the polishess I used were 1.5 and 2 on a grit scale of 5 for polishes..so that would be like a XMT 1.5 and 2...but the gloss factor is 5 on a scale of 1-5...

They are not a super cut compound but a very fine polishing abrasive type polish...no grit feeling when touched...the stuff is amazing....worth the 600.00 I spent getting them...

I too like the smaller low profile pads. They never stop rotating on the PC and it never bogs down. They just feel like they work better when I use them. That reminds me.......time to go order more;)

I should look into the menzerna pro line in the future. CG sealant sounds really interesting!

Thanks for the information on the Menzerna polishes.

I like the line up of Menzerna products you have, very nice.

I enjoyed the process and all the pictures, looks really good.

That is sweet that your getting paid to detail your own vehicle, nice.

Thanks for sharing.

Great info Al abou the Menzerna, I just recieved the Pro line of Menzerna and going to be using it shortly. I agree with you about the pad combo, I found that Lace Country works best for Menzerna products.

Menzerna is not cheap but well worth the price in my opinion.

However, they are so cheap in Europe! You can get PO85RD or 106FF for about $28...

Nica...If you use the Menzerna..do not use the XMT pad lube...It gummed the polish fast...I used Opt polish after trying the pad lub....Just a dab about the size of a pea...I used 2 pea size drops of Menz..and 1 op polish on heavy spots...light spots 1 Menz and 1 op...just a pea size glob....and a white pad is your friend

Al, you got god info buddy. Thanks for sharing, I haven't tried the Optimum mix with the Menzerna but I did try the XMT pad conditener and you are correct it does gum up the pads....I had to clean my pads a few times when I did the Mercedes vehicle. I used the Edge 2K orange pad and it did leave some marring in it but went over it with FPII and removed all of it but yes you are correct no need for a cutting pad white is my new favorite pad with Menzerna prducts. I need to get more white pads.

Hey Al, the 5inch pads that you have are they Lake Country? I want to order some but I would prefer once with a lip around them (at the endge) does any one know if AG has them?

Thanks for the info Al. I'll let you know what about the Optimum and Menzerna mix...oh I love how small amounts are required for the Menzerna products.

Nica..the 5 in pads are LC...the CCS type...I use a 4.75 in plate for the rotary and a 3.5 for the PC....what I do is I use the rotary for all the flat surfaces..I get as close to plastic and trim as I can...the I break out the PC to get in closer to those parts...with the 3.75 in plate on the PC you have a cushion safety zone...Trust it works ..you get a system down in no time...actually you can drop your Rotary speed down to like 1100 rpms with those pads...smaller pads seem to work faster and use the product better...

As i said before..the LC worked the best for the Menz...I tried 3 brands and LC was the winner...WHITE...your friend...Green for a heavier polishing on beaters...

Al

Yea I got a few backing plates now, actually the exact same size as you mentioned. Good, I'm heading in the right path.

I agree the 4inch pads are the best, the products work great. 6.5inch is okay but 5inch is much better. I'll be getting a bunch of 5inch soon.

Once again thanks for the info Al.

You're not making me feel any better Al!

:)

All joking aside, that's definitely something I need to keep in mind next time I place an order. As you can see, they put my truck under the Pete's '53 section and he's sending me a CG T-Shirt for it with my current order that will arrive tomorrow. Hopefully he threw in some other goodies.

You're right, Paul is a great guy!
