So I've been driving myself crazy trying to get my UHS pads clean. I've been using a mixture of CG pad cleaning solution with a little spot cleaner mixed into a spray bottle and spraying it directly onto the pads and scrubbing with a pad brush. It gets them a little clean but not fully. Recently after some polishing I filled up a bucket with a mixture of APC and CG and warm water. I let them soak for 2 days and took them out and scrubbed with a pad brush. It still came out looking and feeling dirty. Any body have any suggestions about how to clean it? Thanks ahead of time.

I don't know if you have access to it, but cleaning with compressed air while you are polishing is better, imo, than scrubbing.
Also, use a rotary to dry it up, slowly increasing the speed till you reach 3000 RPM or the maximum speed.
Sometimes I repeat the rotary process after the pad is dry, to help remove the dry polish residues trapped in it. Dust will eventually come out.
Also, try to combine some MF detergent in your cleaning formula. But I never leave the pads soaked for too long, it is not good for the velcro glue.
When the pad is very stained with polish residues, I have a more concentrated combo of MF and pad cleaner, I spray it on it, let is dwell for 15 minutes, and then wash it by hand, using my thumbs from the center to the outside, in circular motion.
Closed cells pads are more difficult to remove residues than open cells, for obvious reasons, and some stains will remain unavoidably. I hope it helps a bit.

I don't have the Rupes pads, only LC flats. I do not soak mine and sometime they sit dry for couple of days. I just cover the face with blue Dawn dish soap, add a little of hot water from the tap, and massage it. I do like above from the center out then rinse several times.

I use Optimum's Compound II and Polish II. The compound is harder to remove than the polish.

What brand compound, and/or polish are you using? Or is it a AIO? Maybe someone has tips for that particular product.

I actually have done that process. I used to add MF soap to the mix but didn't think it was necessary since the pad wasn't MF. All my other Rupes pads have come out clean using this method but it's just the UHS pads that are difficult.

It's not cleaning them while polishing but more for after I'm done.

I do hand wash the pads after. I'll spray the solution on. Wait about 10 minutes, spray more cleaning solution on and scrub the pads. Rinse them out with clean flowing water and set to dry. The UHS pads will just not come clean this way.

Sorry about that. I should've mentioned earlier that I'm using the UHS compound from Rupes. It's their AIO compound designed for those specific pads

let them soak, i usually make soapy water with Dawn and let the pad face soak in it over night. the next morning they come out pretty clean. the UHS compound is really stuborn to get out of the pad.

I did let it soak in a 5 gallon bucket with about 3-4 oz of CG pad cleaner and 3-4 oz of Meg's APC. I filled with water and let them soak for 2 days. Still dirty.

Why so much water (5gal)? Simple Green, cut 50/50, let soak for a few minutes and rinse well.
