Cleaning applicator pads

When you clean the pads with dawn or other cleaner where do you do it? It would be convenient to use the kitchen sink where I can make use of hot water but do I run the risk of clogging my pipes?
 
yeah i use teh sink to 'pre-clean' stuff like pads and MF that is extra soiled. For pads, I spray Dawn PD on teh pad, rub it in and let it soak on the counter for about 15 minutes. then I toss into a warm sink mixed with tide free or any other detergent that is free of dye, softeners, or purfumes. lastly, a gentle wash cycle in the machine with an extra rinse cycle.

That Dawn stuff was very convincing when my super filthy white ccs pads were white again before I even machine washed them. they were almost black after using poli-seal on a heavily oxidized car.
