Was curious what you use to clean carnauba wax from foam applicator pads?
I've used Simple Green, Snappy powder, and Dawn Power Dissolver....they all do okay, but it's tough to get all the wax out. Was looking for something better. Thanks.
DP pad rejuvenator with warm water. Soak for 30 minutes, then rub the product out with your thumb. Soak an little longer, then throw them in the washer with my towels using micro-restore.
All I ever use is XMT Pad Cleaner, except when it comes to my red pads with carnuba in them. Then I use Dawn Power Disolver, kneed with my thumbs, rinse, Xmt Cleaner, kneed in with my thumbs (with a little extra H2O), let sit for 30 mins, rinse, spin dry. Best I've found in my arsenal but does not get it all. The pads do get their shape back and I feel confident to use them with another wax.
I clean my foam applicators with <gulp> mineral spirits (paint thinner) or turps. It only takes about 10 seconds of massaging and squishing the pad to remove waxes and the like and then I simply wash it with a detergent (Dawn or whatever is near the sink) and let air dry. I use the Meguiars yellow foam applicators and they are none the worse for wear from the mineral spirits. I keep the spirits in a container with a tight fitting lid as it can be used for quite some time before it gets loaded with wax.
I did try the snappy pad cleaner but it didn't seem to do much for me.

Christian
PS, I did try IPA once but while it instantly dissolved the wax in the pad, the pad swelled up and became very mushy (this was NOT a Megs pad by the way) so I have not tried it again..... I just wanted to mention it here, should someone put the IPA wipe and cleaning a foam pad full of wax together and get the same idea I did.
