cleaning inside of windshield

Interior rear windows in 2-door, four passenger coupes (non-hatchback) are the most difficult. I'm fairly small and flexible and I hate them. In the sun and it's not even worth it.

OP - for the front windshield I'll use my regular method two glass microfiber towels (one damp with window cleaner, other for buffing/drying). This will usually get all windows perfect and the front window 90-95%. I'll follow this with a clean plush microfiber with just a spritz of water and this usually takes care of the final very minor streaks. Good luck with it.

I hope it's not the spot where your girlfriend sticks her feet up on the dash and rubs her toes on the windshield.

I hate it when they do that.

LOL so do I! Every job has that one thing that no one enjoys and I just chalk interior front and rear windows as that one part of detailing lol but the one thing I can say about that is ever since I found Larry kosilla from ammo NYC video on glass cleaning he shows a technique for the inside windshield where you attack from the passengers side and put ur knees on the seat prop ur left hand on something like the center console and use the towel with ur right hand flipped upside down doesn't make the job any less of a pain but makes the process ALOT more bearable I use this same technique on the rear glass. Hopefully this helps

I use his method - works great for me. Here is link to his video - inside tip starts around 11:50.

I never thought to try IPA do you dilute it at all or just use it full strength? I'll have to give this a shot tomorrow since I've already got some handy!

Full strength, pour it on......... Drippy you do not want.

"They" still do that?

My GF back in high school did that, was really bad coming back from the beach...the sand from 'tween her toes...well you get the idea.

My wife does that on road trips. I make her wear socks, that way the dash gets dusted as well.:D

If its been a while since I last cleaned them, I use this method on all my interior windows:

Dawn w/ warm water, dry, spritz a little Megs window cleaner to finish it off.

Mrs. McCoy routinely races out to roll up her windows when she hears thunder....only to find the windows are up, they're just clean.

Hahaha my little lady knows better than that! Thanks for all the replies good thing my windshield is nice and greasy I can do some experimentation this weekend! ¡!

Before we moved to FL we lived next to a family who's wife used to do that. In 2010 they were involved in an accident on the highway, the passenger airbag deployed and her legs were bent into positions they weren't meant to go. Needless to say she no longer walks correctly anymore. Please encourage your loved one to refrain from putting feet up on the dash.

Living in the desert, I had clear uv/solar protection window film installed on the interior side of the windshield to help reduce summer heat. Significantly reduced hazing in addition to reducing interior temp. Installed on my other vehicle. Worth the expense.

I have a '14 Mustang that had 8700 miles when I bought it. Not sure what was previously used on interior/exterior glass, but still has heavy film on all that I can't get off. Have used ammonia, Windex, alcohol, Stoner, and even a magic eraser on the outside of windshield. Nothing works. Have replaced wipers twice and still can't see when it rains. Any ideas?

I would suggest for the outside polishes that are designed for polishing glass since the usual methods didn't work. On the interior possibly a magic eraser with more bite. Also did you try too clay bar?

Magic eraser to break up the film (used wet) then clean the windshield twice with what ever product you use for glass. Make sure you finish with a microfiber designed for glass, it will remove any trace that might still be left.

Yeah it seems no matter what, I have a weird film on the inside. I'll have to try some of the things here...
