I'm not sure of the correct terminology but what I would like to know is, how do you guys clean the inside of the window gasket? Technique and cleaners?

It's the part of the window gasket where the top of the window sits when completely closed. The part that leaves its residue on the outer edges of the window. Thanks!

I haven't done mine but then again I'm always finding new places to clean...

I imagine you'd roll down the window, wrap a cheap mf around a popsicle stick, spray some diluted apc, and scrub around up in there...

I use my steamer, it works well as blowing everything out of the seal. I also use the steamer to clean the lip that meets the glass on the inside and outside of the glass.

Sorry for the late reply. I own a Euro-Steam ES2100 unit it has both the steam function and the water injection feature. Keep an eye out on ebay if you want something professional for a good price. This is a much nicer unit then the $100 home store stuff. Don't get me wrong the smaller units will work fine but I like the options the pro units offer. The 3 levels of steam and the water injection are great when working on an engine or interior.

Wrap a thin MF around a plastic putty knife. Insert swipe back-forth.

Not as sexy as a steamer, but effective.

Thanks everybody. I thought of the plastic putty knife idea after the popsicle stick idea but couldn't find one. I did use a plastic shim, the ones used to install Pergo floors, wrapped around an old rag. Soaked it in some Simple green and got all the crud out. Now I have to find something thin enough and safe enough to fit between the back window and the lip of the gasket since the windows don't roll all the way down.

Pretty cool how this forum gets your creative juices flowing with all the help here!

I wrap a paper towel around the end of an old plastic card (old hotel room key), and spray the towel with ONR in QD dilution and use that to clean the dirt out.
