when cleaning the interrior by hand, does anyone take out the carpet matts and soak them in water and cleaner then scrub them and get all the cleaner and dirt out? or do you just spray cleaner and scrub. also after scrubbing the carpet in the car do you vacuum to get the dirt out or use a rag and wipe it.

I normally pull the mats put them on a tarp then spray carpet cleaner then steam clean them followed by vacuuming.

Here is my process:
Pull the matts out
Vacuum the matt
Spray the matts with water
Spray matts with DP Carpet Cleaner
Scrub the matts
Rinse
Vacuum the matts dry

I have pulled the mats out and placed them in a little kiddie pool(less than $10 @ Wally World) and let them soak in APC. Works pretty good then drip dry and vac.

Last but not least,

Pull the mats out and lay them on a solid flat surface
Spray liberally with APC+
Scrub with a stiff brush
Power wash then inspect
Vacuum and let dry
Spray with Scotch Guard

I prefer spot cleaning matts ... but I dont have an extractor. I have seen matts soaked with water and heavy cleaners lose their fluff and look.

if truly fillhy i take out, vacume, flood with my car wash bucket remains, agitate with a cyclo brush on the pc, rinse thoroughly with hose, extract with mytee II, then hang on a board i built with clips. works great

I very rarely rinse the mats. Below is my process.

Take the mats out
Vacuum them
Spray with carpet cleaning chemical
Use my Dewalt with the buffer brush (great investment)
Wipe away excess wetness
