Cleaning off greasy tire shine

My go to is Meguiars D143 diluted 2:1 [2 parts water 1 part concentrate] + cleans wheels too. Easily 1 of my top 5 fav. products.

If it is really greasy tire shine that barely moves with APC try Stoners Tarminator. Spray it on a MF and the wipe 1/4 of the tire. Spray more on new face of MF then wipe next 1/4 of tire, etc.

Then finish with your normal tire cleaner to make sure all the Tarminator solvents/cleaners are removed.

I'll second Eldorado2K's post. The Meguiar's Non-Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner is great for removing unwanted "stuff" from tires & wheels. SOME of the nastier tire coatings may require 2 applications, but it will get it all off. (The Consumer-line Hot Shine Wheel & Tire Cleaner also works well).

I use TUF SHINE Tire Cleaner
to clean off greasy tire shine.

What if I'm at the customers place and no hot water comes out the spigot?

You should carry a cheap Ketle in your arsenal. You never know when you might need hot water. I purchased mine for 20 CAN$ so you can probably get something similar for 10 US$. Saved me a lot of work a few times.

As far as cleaning tires, I think I'm just fine with my current tire cleaner... I can't think of too many times where I've absolutely needed hot water but didn't have any. What do you use it for?

Griots Garage Rubber Cleaner and TUF Shine Tire Brush. Best I found so far.
I spray tire down first with Rubber Cleaner wait two min, then I spay my rim down with Sonax Wheel Cleaner.
Wait a min then start scrubbing the tire with the Tuf Shine Tire Brush then start cleaning the rims.

This regime has worked great for me and really only adds a min or two to my wheel, tire fender well cleaning.
When done the tires look completely naked and the wheels are perfectly clean.

Salt removal from carpet is my primary use. I don't have a hot water extractor, so I use it to heat water up for my cold water extractor.
