Cleaning Rupes pads

Used my blue rupes pads today. To say there AMAZING is a understatement. There brilliant!

Now cleaning.......with my MF pads (Megs) they were easy to clean and always came up new.

With the rupes blue pads, I'm finding it hard to get all the dry compound out, where the pad is open cell there's small dots of compound stuck in there.

Also, there stained as anything, which is surprising as when I use d300 on white MF pads, the pink liquids that is d300 washes straight out, but the white compound (blue top) doesn't.

Any advice guys?
 
Great question. I haven't ran my blue foam yet.

Compressed air seems to be the consensus on the best way to clean the pads.
 
Google 'my ghetto pad washer'. I copied the design & it works great, just like the video shows. The op posted it on this forum somewhere. Spent less than $20.

Works brilliantly. I made a clone of the grit guard system with pvc and springs, quickly abandoned that for the Swanic washer. Best to have an electric pressure washer as the gas can be too strong unless you spray from a good distance with the widest nozzle
 
What are using as a cleaner to clean them with?

And, just for reference; you are saying it the Rupes blue top(white colored) compounding product that is not wanting to come out of the pads.

I don't have any experience with the Rupes polishes/compounds, but I have to work to get all of the Optimum Compound II out of my pads. I use blue Dawn, my thumbs, and massage from the center out. Now that I have realized I don't have to use so compound, and swap pads sooner, there are much they are easier to clean
 
Pressurized water from an electric pressure washer works best. Or you can blast it from your garden hose to see how well that may work. No cleaner needs to be added.
