Cleaning stubborn water marks on windows

I've tried all sorts of usual spray glass cleaners to remove water marks that have been left for a long time but no joy so far.

Nearest I've got to making any difference is Autoglym Car Glass Polish but the marks are still there.

Wondered if using a polisher and compound might help?

Any suggestions hugely appreciated

Ceriglass Glass Polish w/rayon glass polishing pad on a rotary. Here's a 50/50 of the before and after for my wife's rear windshield that had really awful water spots.

3D eraser works really well to get the mineral spots off. I have used it on really bad windows. But if the glass is etched, then Carpro Ceriglass is probably a better option.

Carpro Ceriglass on rotary as Subyfan suggests. Not pleasant to work with, very messy, but definitely works well.

I’ve had good luck with MF cutting pads and compound via Rupes 15 getting off some lighter water spots.

Any tips on best way to go about using it or do you use in very similar way as compound on paint?

Doesn't take but a few drops. Wet the pad and the surface and run it around 1200rpm. As soon as it begins to dry out spritz it with water and keep going. Don't let it dry out, because it will dust and all be picked up by the pad. If you keep it wet, a little goes a VERY long way. Word of caution, don't run it too fast because it will make a huge mess and keep an eye/hand on the temperature of the glass.

Hi folks. I know it's not 100% on topic, but I did purchase some Ceriglass and Rayon pad for a 5 or 6 inch isolated scratch on our Chevy Equinox. It was made from the wiper/plastic housing on the rear blade. Does one need to polish the entire glass to ensure some sort of 'uniformity' or can one just work on the scratch if the rest of the window is fine... i guess in my mind i'm thinking the whole glass or one part will be 'extra clear'... lol

I did think about using a high cutting compound. This is interesting. What sort of mop are you using with that Bob?
