The Joe Fernandez Method - The JFM

I don't use a brush because the bristles are too wide apart to clean in-between the microfibers. Compressed air is best to clean the pads with but we don't carry air on board my detail rigs so..........

We found that a bug sponge works awesome!

Here is a dirty MF pad. I have cleaned pads that were much more "loaded up" than this with the bug sponge.

I turn on the machine and I run the sponge over the face of the pad for about 15 seconds.

Clean and ready for more action!!

I was apprehensive about using a pad brush that could damaging the MF material.
I took your advice and purchased a couple of bug sponges. I'm going to give it a try.
Removes spent material, cleans the pad and fluffs up the MF. Looks like a winner!

I used the "Bug Sponge Method" over the weekend and it worked like a champ!
I did the on-the-fly method after each section pass. What a GREAT idea! Way to go!

An additional benefit of using a Bug Sponge...it doesn't cost $13 as in the case of a pad cleaning brush. Downside is that the sponge eventually has to be cleaned as well, where the brush will clean much easier and faster.

That's why I use a denture brush.... $6 at the supermarket.
