Cleaning WeatherTech Liners, opinions welcome....

Long time no forum!

Just got some new WeatherTech digital liners for our RX350. How are you all cleaning/protecting? I figure they dont need much protection, but my wifes heels are leaving scuffs, thoughts? Thanks! :)
 
Not sure about protection, as I wouldn’t want them too slick, causing slipping of the feet... I clean my mud guard mats with Meg’s APC, diluted around 1:10 if they aren’t too bad, or a little stronger dilution if they are disgusting (like late winter/early spring).
 
I wash my WeatherTechs with Mequiars APC at 4:1, using a carpet brush. A couple of times I did hit them with the (SunJoe electric) pressure washer. I seemed to have the best results when I brought them inside and cleaned them with hot water. As far as protection, look no further than the protectant that WeatherTech offers. You'll not be able to keep them looking new forever, but it does help freshen them up. I'd avoid any dressing on them, even though people will say they use it, because it will make them slick, at least in my experience.
 
I have used Megs D101, D108 (mild), WeatherTech cleaner, all with great results. I feel D101 is good enough. After trying a few things, I think the WeatherTech protectant is best.
 
Weather Tech makes cleaner and protectant. It’s annoying they don’t sell sizes bigger than the spray bottle they sell. The cleaner works really well. The protectant I think is lacking in the restoring color department but does seem to help with cleaning them the next time. Auto geek sells both. I figure weather tech knows their mats the best....btw congrats on getting the mats I think they are almost an essential upgrade.
 
I use the WeatherTech cleaner and protectant and they both work great. I've had my WeatherTech for 8 years now and they look almost new.
 
Thanks for the thread. I once drove home to Illinois from Palm Beach, Fla with a car I had just purchased. The dealer had done a respectable job of detailing it, but someone put tons of some protectant or dressing on the floor mats. My heels were sliding all over the place! It was so bad, I threw the drivers side mat in the trunk. It took a ton of scrubbing with APC to get the slipperiness off. I'm sure the WeatherTech products are very good.
 
I’m also using the weather tech branded cleaner & protectant. Works well.

I'll update this thread on the weather tech products tomorrow. I have a cargo tray in my explorer that gets a beating from the double stroller. Should be a good test.

I miss my floor liners. My old truck had them, I haven't gotten around to getting a set for my current one, and the explorer.
 
I use the WeatherTech cleaner/protectant combo and they do actually work. Sometimes I do use Simple Green or Blackfire BF-450 diluted 10:1. The Simple Green and Blackfire foam up nicely as you scrub with a brush. The WeatherTech cleaner foams as you spray it on the surface. I can't say that one cleaner works better than the other but I do have faith in the protectant.
 
I have a different brand of floor liners. I just vacuum them and wipe with a towel damp with ONRWW.

You would be surprised they scuff easy. my boots scuff them to. after you clean them its easy to see. I use the weathertech cleaner and protector
 
I’ve found that Nextzett Plastik Reiniger works very well at cleaning the Weathertech Floorliners. I prefer it over the Weathertech Cleaner.

I do use their Protectant once or twice a year after cleaning.

The Floorliners do scuff up a bit from use. I have not found a way to make them look “brand new” and unused, but my method does keep them looking very nice.
 
It seems like lots of you have scuffs, that makes me feel better. My wife's heels have these black things on the bottom for grip, they scuff everything.....i shouldn't have married her :)'s
